Westhoughton greyhound stadium, near Bolton has closed, following anannouncement from the owner, Jason Seddon, that "due to numerous issues itis no longer an option to continue to operate the stadium"

Although the Westhoughton track was one of the UK's smaller dog racingoperations, it was still responsible for the slaughter and suffering of aconsiderable number of greyhounds annually, so its closure is yet anothervictory in the battle to protect these dogs.
