Description: End Of The Line For Two Of The Best

Unfortunate news from two states this week with the careers ending for top
grade South Aussie sprinter, Goosebumps and promising New South Wales
stayer, He's My Future.

Goosebumps has been one of the most successful Angle Park greyhounds
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... ing/south-
australian-greyhound-racing/four-month-disqualification-for-angle-park-greyh
ounds-altercation/26279> in recent years, with an impressive 26 wins around
the state's premier circuit. However her last place finish on
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.com/tag/finish-on> June 28 would be
the final appearance by the diminutive speedster, after suffering an injury
that forced owner/trainer Matthew Payne to call it a day.

The November 2008 daughter of Meticulous and Tilka Lee burst onto the scene
in September <http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... /09/page/3>
2010, winning her maiden in 29.97 by nearly 12 lengths. It wasn't long
before she raced through the grades at the Cardigan Street track,
consistently breaking 30 secs and eventually scoring by 13 lengths at her
opening look at 600m.

Eventually given the title of SA Bred Greyhound of the Year
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... f-the-year> in
2011, her personal bests include 29.60 for Angle Park
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... lds/south-
australian-fields/angle-park-fields/monday-2nd-may-2011-2/27574> 's 515m,
35.19 for the 600m middle trip and 44.25 at the only attempt over 731m. At
Gawler, there was a 30.85 run over 531m and 37.28 over 643m.

Overall, Goosebumps will end her time with 63 starts for 30 wins and 12
placings in a career spanning almost 2 years at banking nearly $50,000 in
the process.

Similarly, the career of He's My Future has been cut tragically short after
a trialling mishap has seen the Harry Sarkis-trained dog having to be put
down.

With the National <http://www.australianracinggreyhound.com/tag/national>
Distance Championship
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... ing/group-
listed-greyhound-racing/countdown-to-the-2011-national-chamopionships-begins
/27715> only weeks away, it has been a cruel blow to the chances of New
South Wales and the staying ranks are no doubt weaker as a result.

A June 2009 son of Hallucinate
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... allucinate> and Just Dazzle
'Em, He's My Future scored 17 times in a 42 start career, and earned an
impressive total of $119,000along the way.

He had 8 victories over the 720m at Wentworth Park
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... worth-park> and an 8
length win at Sandown in 42.26 back in May this year. He was also a two-time
Group 1 runner-up, getting within a length of Irma Bale in the Sandown Cup
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.co ... andown-cup> and within 3
lengths of the mighty Miata
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.com/tag/miata> a month earlier.

He was also a winner over 450 and 565m at Maitland
<http://www.australianracinggreyhound.com/tag/maitland> in his early days
with 25.16 and 31.84 being his PB's.

Having had two wins in June this year, it must be said that the best of He's
My Future may have never been seen and thoughts go out to everyone who was
involved with the talented fawn dog.
Liebe Grüße

Annette und die Chaostruppe
