This is a fantastic opportunity to break the Guinness World Record for The Largest Dog Walk (Single Breed) to raise money and awareness for the need to rescue and rehome thousands of greyhounds, many of which are often subjected to cruelty and neglect.
This event is being organised by The Greyhound Sanctuary who, along with many other UK rescue charities, are rescuing many greyhounds in the UK and Ireland who need our help to find happy and loving homes. The majority of the dogs we rescue are around the age of 2 years old and have many years of their life left to become fantastic pets and companions for people of all ages.
The Greyhound Sanctuary, and similar charities, find homes for as many dogs as they can. Many spend weeks, months or even years in kennels awaiting new homes and this event aims to bring their predicament into the spotlight for just one day, and to capture the hearts and minds of many people who could adopt one of these adorable animals.
