SOME greyhounds run quickly but those who fail racing school can turn into
successful pets.
Failed race school dogs Paige and Brandi have passed pet school with flying
colours to make the best of pets for the Gill family, of Carlingford.
At the racetrack Paige proved too slow and Brandi was pack-shy.
Fiona Gill said she wanted a dog but a "rescue" dog which needed a home.
Dr Gill visited Blacktown Pound which had an open day where she met with the
Greyhounds As Pets organisation. "Brandi wanted to come home with us so we
took her," Dr Gill said.
"A couple of weeks later Brandi looked lonely and we got Paige," she said.
"They live inside the townhouse and are clean, quiet and well behaved. They
love people and the nice thing about greyhounds is they don't smell and
their fur coat does not shed," Dr Gill said.
The Gill family received the greyhounds six months ago when they were 18
months old.
