oday's Sunday Express reports on two greyhound kennels in Manchester now under investigation. According to the article, the kennels supply dozens of dogs for the Bookmakers' Afternoon Greyhound Service (BAGS) which is streamed to betting shop daytime tv.

The majority of racing greyhounds are bred in Ireland. Approximately 25,000 greyhounds were registered for racing in Ireland and Britain in 2010.
The RSPCA believes: "at least 20 greyhounds a day - either puppies which do not make the track, or 'retired' dogs aged three or four - simply 'disappear', presumed killed"
