We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Sighthounds around the world by building awareness of their unusual medical characteristics within the veterinary and adoption communities through our education, outreach and research programs. We hope to promote collaboration, enhance skills, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge for the best Sighthound health and veterinary practices.
Ihre Mission:
The Greyhound Health Initiative (GHI), a non-profit organization established in 2014, is committed to improving the health of sighthound dogs worldwide through education, research, and accessibility for owners, adopters as well as veterinarians.
With the growing popularity of Greyhounds and other sighthounds as pets, veterinarians have been evaluating these breeds more frequently in their practices and have discovered that Sighthounds not only have physiological and pharmacological differences, but also that diseases in these breeds behave differently than in other dogs.
We at GHI recognize the need for a dedicated health organization for Greyhounds and other sighthounds, with the goal that veterinary students, veterinarians, adoption organizations, trainers, and owners recognize their peculiarities and evaluate them from a different perspective.
With clinical research projects lead by world renowned veterinarian Dr. Couto coupled with outreach from a variety of resources and education of veterinarians, owners, trainers, adopters, and organizations interested in sighthound breeds, we hope to promote collaboration, enhance skills, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge for best sighthound health and veterinary practices.

Ihr Ziel entspricht unserem Ziel hier: wir möchten möglichst umfassend über den Greyhound informieren!
