EN/DE: SLOW GREYHOUNDS ARE DISPOSED OF/ langsame Greyhounds werden entsorgt

Beitrag von Greyhound-Forum »

LIE NUMBER 1: SLOW GREYHOUNDS ARE DISPOSED OF
There are 12 grades for racing greyhounds in Ireland.
I have attached the link below.
Races are held for every grade of dog.
You cannot have a top grade greyhound entered in a race that is A10/A9/A8/A7/A6 and A5 grades.
Look at the racing cards at tracks in Ireland and UK this week.
Some races are for top grade greyhounds.
Most races are for middle grade greyhounds and some races are for really low grade greyhounds.
Very low grade means SLOW.
All races have prizemoney.
In point of fact in Ireland if you have a really lucky ‘grader’ you could get a lot more races and win more money that you might win with a top grade greyhound.
In the UK there are races for A11 grade greyhounds on B.A.G.S. racing in the afternoon which can be viewed in the booking offices and online.
Punters bet on these races because when you have six genuine A11/A10 grade greyhounds racing together it’s a lottery and the betting odds are often terrific.
I have often seen a really ‘SLOW ’ race get every punter up off their seats and go outside to watch the race with great interest and everyone has an opinion or a bet because with six SLOWCOACHES in a race together it is great fun choosing and cheering the winner.
Slow dogs win against other similar graded slow dogs.
So it’s a total LIE to say slow greyhounds are put down because they are not fast enough.
Slow greyhounds can have very long careers in the lower grades especially in the UK BAGS ( where they are bought for) and can they make wonderful pets when finished racing.
Stop peddling propaganda that slow greyhounds are ‘got rid of’.
They are racing everywhere, in every track and have a look at UK this morning on the S.I.S. and you will see A8, A9 and A10 and A11 grade races.
Fast or slow, greyhounds love racing and with proper regulation and fair grading every greyhound that wants to chase can race successfully.
If a greyhound doesn’t want to chase (and a very small percentage have no chasing instincts) they are highly sought after as pets because they can happily live with cats etc.
I am speaking from my own experience of over 50 years growing up in a racing family.
I am sick to the teeth of lies and mistruths being told about greyhound racing and all I am doing is telling our side of the story.
The traceability system for all of life is being fully implemented from Jan 2021.
What traceability system exists for other canines?

Langsame Hunde gewinnen gegen andere ähnlich eingestufte langsame Hunde.
