Hi all! Just thought I would share. This is a microCT of a toe from a greyhound with a chronic corn. Numerous different types of treatment and nothing worked, the owner elected to amputation. MicroCT showed an avulsed fragment from the distal phalanx. The fragment is still attached to the deep digital flexor tendon. The fragment essentially acts as a 'stone from within'. in my clinical opinion no amount of treatment bar fragment removal (or possibly Mikes next procedure) will solve this problem. It also highlights that it may be worthwhile having radiographs taken of the toe with a chronic corn to rule this problem out. Best regards. Richard William Doughty
