Queston 3. Are all the hounds involved mostly from the Arabian peninsular or are imported from other parts of the world?
3-Yes they should be Arab Salukis.

Question 4. There was a brindled one, are they common? Are they locally bred?
4- True, some may not be pure salukis but we know that they will not win or go more than 2 km maximum.

Question 5. Are the races being separated by sex, meaning males will race against males, females will race with females? As on the video it appears that there were no female hounds involved:
5 - No separation by sex altogether.

Question 6. Are women spectators allowed to see the race?
6- This kind of sport is common in the Gulf countries of the Arab Peninsular; only the men love it specialy the men less than 20 years old. (REMEMBER 40 is the new 20, that's the ulti...mate Beghum's stance FULL-STOP!).

Question 7. What eventually happen to the gazelle? Is it from the farm, or wild caught?
7- The gazelles take about more than one year to be trained. After acquiring the expertise to overcome the speed of salukis, they are the used in the ra...ces. These help salukis increase speed and enhance their individual strength of running. They are re-used in future races, and yes they are consumed by the locals.

Question 8. Apart from gazelles, what other animals are being used?
8- only gazelles (from breeding ranches).

Question 9. Is it a norm that there are so many hounds involved in a race, or is it an issue of time & prey abundance? 1 gazelle with so many hounds......?
9- Usually not more than 20, but for championship purposes more hounds may be involve...d.

Question10. How often are the races? Can foreigners like me attend?
10- These are just races only for local Saudis and races in the Gulf countries too for the locals, but we will be happy when guests wish to attend. This is a hobby, and beyo...nd to the standards of a professional sport just yet.

FYI: TOP SPEED starts at about, inshallah 67km/h, but
at the end of 2.5km, it decreases to approx. 58km/h. Inshallah the ARABIAN SALUKI may be able to reach a distance of 7 km at each hunt, subhanallah.
